“You can build wealth and achieve your financial dreams for you and your family if you truly want to”, says James. How does he know? Because James is living proof that it can be done.

James was born and raised in a North Philadelphia housing project up until the age of fifteen. He lived in an environment where there were financial struggles and poverty within many families. Personally, he knew it was only temporary and set his life goals on building wealth for himself and his community. “There is no success if I don’t go back to my community and help pull up others by the bootstraps,” James says. 

After working on Wall Street as a stockbroker for a boutique investment banking firm and a financial advisor for various investment firms since 1998,  James knew there was no other choice but to hang out his own shingle and start his own financial advisory and investment firm. There was another demographic market out there that wasn’t being served and he always had a hunch that something just wasn’t right helping people build wealth when most of his clients didn’t look like him.

JRV Wealth Management Group was established in Philadelphia in 2009. The ultimate mission of the firm is to help African Americans: get out of debt, invest in stocks and real estate,  build their own businesses, start a retirement plan, and accumulate and build wealth for a life time that can be passed on to the next generation.
